Biography:
Crystal Adeline Johnson is a Senior Environmental Specialist with over 15 years experience in environmental planning and assessment, sustainability management and compliance reviews for private and public projects. She is a specialist in water/wastewater, hazardous materials, natural resources, energy and other environmental issues, especially pertaining to urban communities. She has spent most of her environmental career working with communities of color in urban areas to address and resolve environmental issues while also promoting a vital economic base for the communities.

She has experience in developing community outreach participation programs and communicating complex environmental issues to a variety of audiences. She has scoped, prepared and critiqued environmental impact reports/statements (for NEPA and state environmental regulations), Air Quality Reports, Water Resources Assessments, Climate Change Action Plans and Biodiesel Feasibility Studies.

She has worked with various industry sectors, including airports in MA to educate them on environmental regulations, requirements and responsibilities, as well as provided environmental planning and assessment for NYC's water pollution control plants. She has served as a liaison between the general public, NGOs, an industry sector affiliations, public officials and state/federal regulatory agencies.

In addition, she has developed custom environmental education curriculum and environmental assessments for private organizations and public agencies.

She is an environment expert television correspondent.  She also designs "Green" programs and environmental initiatives for businesses and "Green" festivals for communities, including creating "Green" contest themes.

Her technical and creative skills allow her to craft and implement solutions to simple and complex environmental challenges, particularly in undeserved communities of colors which typically receive a greater environmental burden.
