Biography:
Curtis Pree is one of the most respected
political minds of his generation. His prominence
in the Democratic Party is well documented and
his wealth of knowledge about the political
process has his telephone number on speed dial
of many political power brokers.
Curtis
Pree's political experience took hold in his
early years both as a Commissioner for the Prevention
of Juvenile Delinquency for the County of Alameda
and the student representative on the Oakland
School Board. After completing undergraduate
studies at Howard University, Curtis went on
to work in a number of capacities in the presidential
campaign of Walter Mondale, former Vice President
of the United States. Working in the Iowa Caucus
and many primaries and caucuses during the 1984
presidential election cycle gave Curtis hands
on experience and earned him the covenant designation
as an “Iowa Hog”, a name reserved
for the best field organizers. During the 1984
campaign, Pree had the honor of working as an
advanceman on behalf of the first woman vice
presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro.
Curtis
Pree’s vast campaign experience is punctuated
by his management of a congressional campaign
in Washington, DC, in serving as the Democratic
National Committees press director of the Southern
Bus Tour of the winning campaign of Bill Clinton
in 1992 and his third place showing in the 1994
mayoral race for mayor of Washington, D.C. in
1994.
Curtis’
advocacy for the everyday man can be seen in
his work as a public interest lobbyist for the
more than 2000 publicly owned electric companies
in the United States. During his tenure as a
lobbyist, he wrote “Politics That Work”
making your voice heard during the era of electric
restructuring. “Politics That Work”
is a primer for public utility executives trying
to connect with their customers and elected
officials.
As
a licensed realtor in Maryland, Washington,
D.C. and Virginia, Curtis Pree can speak with
authority to the concerns about predatory lending
and the rapid home foreclosure rate.
Whether
the discussion is about political issues, social
concerns or campaigning, Curtis Prees’
plethora of experience makes him the kind of
expert to spice up any forum.
