Biography:
Dante Lee is the 26-year old president
and CEO of Diversity City Media, a multicultural
marketing and public relations firm based in
Columbus, Ohio. Founded in the year 2000, this
award-winning company helps Fortune 500 advertisers
reach African American consumers online. They
also help authors and organizations get publicity.
The
company is highly regarded in the multicultural
marketing industry, and has annual billings
of more than $500,000. Their long-time clients
include Nationwide Insurance, Choice Hotels,
McDonald's, BET, NASCAR, Black Expressions,
Verizon, and TV One.
Diversity
City Media produces several online properties
that are used as tools for their clients:

BlackNews.com and BlackStudents.com are popular
online references for news, scholarships, and
internships. Revenue is generated by selling
advertising space and sponsorships.

BlackPR.com is an extensive press release distribution
service to the Black media. Revenue is generated
by charging clients to disseminate information
to nearly 1,000 media outlets.

BlackExperts.com and BlackSpeakers.com are online
directories of African American experts, speakers,
and authors who are available for media interviews
and public speaking engagements.
Through
a partnership with Grandlin Interactive, Lee
also produces HBCU.com also known as HBCUconnect.com
- the largest social networking platform for
Black college students and alumni. William Moss,
founder and CEO of Grandlin Interactive, is
Lee's long-time business partner.
In
August 2007, Lee and Moss acquired BlackHistory.com
with plans to launch it as an online free content
encyclopedia.
In
addition to running Diversity City Media, Lee
is also the author of How To Think Big...When
You're Small and The 2007-2009 African
American Scholarship Guide. His latest
book, Diversity-Preneur: How To Enhance
Your Company Through Diversity, is due
out in November 2007.
Lee
also serves as a motivational speaker and diversity
consultant. He has addressed several groups
including the African American Business Summit
(AABS), the Tavis Smiley Leadership Institute,
and the National Association of Black Telecommunications
Professionals (NABTP).
Lee
has been recognized by MSNBC, CNN, and scores
of newspapers and magazines. Ebony Magazine
named him one of the "Top 30 Young Leaders
For 2006". Black Enterprise Magazine nominated
him for the 2006 Small Business of the Year
Award, and highlighted his company in three
different back-to-back issues.
Lee
was born and raised in the Washington, DC area.
He graduated from Bowie State University with
a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, and
was the only person in the institution's 100-year
history to graduate from a 4-year program, in
three years.
His
wife, Makeisha Lee, is a nationally-recognized
health columnist and nutritional advisor.
His
father, Irvin Lee, is president and CEO of Platinum
Computer Services - based in the Washington,
DC area. His mother, Beverly Lee, is a retired
educator and computer consultant.
