Donna Michele Ramos
There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going!

Company: Donatella Publishing Co.
Location: Sacramento, CA

Biography:
Her niche is multi-cultural novels, you don’t want to end. As a first-time, self-published author Donna Michele Ramos’ book “HIGH RISE”, a contemporary romance novel, made Essence Magazine and BlackBookPlus.com’s Best Seller Lists for paperback fiction. Donna Michele’s second novel “BORROWED TIME” a painstakingly researched Civil War historical romance, released December 2006, was also quickly embraced by readers as well. "SCANDALOUS", the much requested, red hot sequel to “HIGH RISE” is soon to be finished and will be available late Winter 2008.

Motivational speaking has come to her as another facet of her outgoing personality, that lets her connect even more with her audience, to encourage and empower them to go after whatever it is they have a passion for. No one should go through life without pursuing their dreams. To quote her, "No one should look back at their life and regret not at least trying something they have always wanted to do or even worse, failing to pursue something they have a God-given gift for. It is a waste and a sin not to use what God has entrusted to you. It's not just for you, it's really for those you come in contact with, you may touch them in a way you don't even realize. You cannot afford to keep your gifts and passions to yourself, they're not yours to keep."

Ms. Ramos also appeases her journalistic spirit as a senior staff reporter for “The Hub” urban entertainment magazine. Her other assignments at the magazine are: food and entertainment critic.

This transplanted New York native, has been a Californian for the last 21 years. She attended Fordham University, Rosehill Campus, Bronx, NY in the 80’s but did not graduate college, CSUS Sacramento until Spring 2000. A proud accomplishment, showing it’s never too late. She is the mother of a son and daughter and the grandmother of four, 3 girls (including a set of twins), their younger sister and little brother. She enjoys spending time with them as often as possible.

A former 20 year civil service employee, Donna Michele facilitated Diversity/Inclusion Workshops for the City of Sacramento and taught Beginning Writer's Workshops for the Sacramento Public Library.  Ms. Ramos is also booked as the keynote speaker at seminars and conferences. She is now devoting herself to her first love, writing. She started young and has been writing books since the fourth grade. Her first book “Have You Ever Tried?” was almost published until publishers found out she was only nine years old. In high school she was into poetry like lots of other kids but didn’t seriously think about writing novels until several years after high school. There are several manuscripts being readied for publication. “Dear Diary…Not Quite” a Tweener book requested by her granddaughters will be released Fall 2008. “Have You Ever Tried?” her first story book will be released early 2009. These books will be the first books published by her company, Donatella Publishing Company. Her company will eventually publish other first-time authors, because she knows first-hand how difficult it is to get a book finished and in print.

In addition to traveling for fun and on book signing tours, Donna Michele also does speaking engagements and beginning writer workshops. Corporations, businesses, colleges, sororities, and book clubs etc. may contact her for appearances, as her scheduling permits. Kids are her heart, which led her to become a mentor. Currently she’s mentoring 4th and 5th grade students. She encourages everyone to try mentoring, just once. You don’t have to spend a lot of time, and schools are happy if you can mentor one hour a week. The kids benefit but you may be surprised to find you may get even more out of it than they do. Donna Michele speaks at schools and encourages appearance requests from schools. To quote her “You never know if you might be the one to spark a specific interest in a child…”
