Biography:
Dorrance Kennedy is a black leader of the future with a message for the nation.
Dorrance Kennedy is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. His family experienced the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. Dorrance is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who was employed for several years as a public school social worker in Louisiana, Illinois, and Missouri. He is presently a professor of social work at Shaw University and Fayetteville State University. Dorrance is also an ordained Baptist minister. He is currently an assistant pastor. He has previously directed men’s ministries and served as a Rites of Passage trainer.
Dorrance is the founder and CEO of Visions of Empowerment, a professional speakers bureau. He is a dynamic speaker with an encyclopedic knowledge of politics, social issues, Black history, and spirituality. Visions of Empowerment specializes in political commentary and cultural issues such as Kwanzaa, Hip Hop, Juneteenth, MLK holiday, etc. He has spoken to churches, civic organizations, schools, and other organizations.
Dorrance is a graduate of Hampton University. He holds a Master of Social Work degree from Southern University and a Master of Theological Studies degree from Covenant Theological Seminary.
