Biography:
H. Lewis Smith is a self-made businessman; entrepreneur; author; and CEO of a non-profit organization, the United Voices for a Common Cause, Inc. Born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio, the self-motivated Lewis Smith embarked upon a sales career as a newspaper boy at 11 years of age, sparking the desire for independence early in life. After graduating from high school, Lewis enlisted into the Air Force, served an eight-year tour of duty, and was honorably discharged.

In the mid-1960’s, he moved to the Los Angeles-metropolitan area to attend Cal State Los Angeles College. He has remained a resident of Los Angeles since that time.

A little over 20 years ago, Lewis came to a crossroad in his life: He was diagnosed with cancer. In the doctor's opinion, Lewis could either have surgery or begin taking medication, which he would have to consume for the rest of his life. Lewis, who has been a student of metaphysics for a great part of his life, chose to do neither. Instead, he elected to place his fate in the hands of a higher power. That epochal moment in Lewis’ life positioned him to receive divine cultivation of psychic (clairsentient), spiritual-healing, and mystic-power abilities.

During his studies of metaphysics, he learned about the power of thoughts and words and the energy that emanates from a simple word; that prompted him to conduct some research on the word, nigger. Lewis’ findings were intense. He felt obligated to share this enlightening information with his black brothers and sisters. Based on research findings and his in-depth understanding of the power of thoughts and words, Lewis wrote the book, Bury that Sucka: A Scandalous Love Affair With the N-word.

After publishing the book, a chain of events led Lewis to found the non-profit organization, United Voices for a Common Cause, Inc. (UVCC). UVCC’s mission statement is as follows:

United Voices for a Common Cause (UVCC) pledges not to use the n-word as we strive toward cultural integrity and mutual respect for all Americans; to offer uncompromising resistance to social forces and structures that deny or limit our ability to achieve this goal; and to promote racial harmony, self-respect, pride and dignity affirming the highest of standards and values for our communities.

Lewis believes that a massive mind-manipulation process in the manner of a Machiavellian approach was perpetuated upon the African-American race over 300 years ago, and is still an on-going phenomenon. He believes that, though, the chains of physical enslavement were broken, the chains of mental enslavement are still in tact; until those chains are broken, all efforts to over-come predominating issues and problems in the black community are futile. H. Lewis Smith is committed to helping overcome such ineffective endeavors and replacing emphasis on cultivating healthy mind power.
