Biography:
James Breedlove has a long distinguished reputation of working within the minority community to promote economic growth. In addition to writing his syndicated weekly column, he is a National Publisher's Association (NNPA) award winning editorialist for Dallas Post Tribune, MON-The Gazette, and the LaVida News and has authored an Urban Economic Development Plan that can eliminate the black-white economic disparity gap. His specific action plan will allow Black America to take responsibility for its own destiny.

Breedlove is self-employed as a motivational speaker and consultant to small businesses in the areas of strategic planning, financing, e-commerce and business development. He retired from the Small Business Administration where he served as Regional Administrator over the 5-state region including Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, a position to which he was appointed by President Bill Clinton. Prior to that he held the challenging position of Senior Contracting Officer at the Resolution Trust Corporation overseeing contracts to dispose of the multi-billion dollar asset portfolio.

He spent years in corporate management in the defense electronics industry in California, Missouri and Indiana after receiving a medical retirement from the U.S. Air Force and obtaining a BS degree in Electrical Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) from Howard University, Washington, D.C.

Mr. Breedlove's technical career has been augmented by community and civic service. He previously served as tenant advisor to the National Capital Housing Authority. He is past president of the Ft. Wayne, IN branch NAACP. He was a guest lecturer at chapman College, Los Angeles, and the Defense Systems Management College, Washington, D.C. He was a Board member of Pacific Christian College and the Presidents Committee, Los Angeles YMCA. He served four years on the Texas State Bar Grievance ommittee.

Breedlove is a Golden Heritage Life Member of NAACP, and holds memberships in Tau Beta Pi, engineering society; Sigma Xi, scientific society; Pi Mu Epsilon, mathematics society; and the Sigma Pi Phi professional boule.
