Biography:
As CEO/President of TaylorMade Media
LLC, Karen Taylor Bass has amassed an astounding
list of accomplishments since launching her
professional empowerment agency in 1999. Through
her hand-on approach, she has introduced the
masses to groundbreaking musicians from Jill
Scott to D’Angelo. Currently, her boutique
agency is setting the standard as a leader in
providing the best in media training and boasts
a diverse client roster including Harper Collins
Publishing, Christopher Gardner (CEO and author
of “The Pursuit of Happyness),”
NBA stars–Chris Webber, Ray Allen, the
Urban League, Home Action USA, ABC Networks
Interscope Records, Coca-Cola USA, Mitchell
& Titus CPA, WKYW-TV and Hidden Beach Recordings,
among them.
Since
expanding the company’s portfolio to include
personal and professional empowerment in 2005,
Taylor Bass, who began her career as a fundraiser,
has utilized her finely crafted communication
skills to inspire and motivate entrepreneurs,
through public relations consulting, media training,
and mentoring services. Her “As Powerful
As You Want To Be” Public Relations &
Mentoring Boot Camp series is currently offered
in eight cities while TaylorMade Media’s
monthly E-newsletter, which features career
and professional development tips, beauty and
arts news that pertains to the African Diaspora,
is serviced to over 1,500 students and professionals.
As
one of the country’s burgeoning orators,
Taylor Bass has shared her message of using
public relations as an empowerment tool with
the students of University of Texas for the
First Annual Mentoring Symposium and acted as
the keynote speaker for the National Black Accounts
and 100 Black Women (Corporate Retreat). In
addition, she’s taken the podium at St.
John’s University, her alma mater, as
well as The Learning Annex of New York City,
Columbia University, Temple University, Hunter
College, New York University, JAMPACT, The Consulate
of Jamaica and National Black Public Relations
Society, to name a few.
Taylor-Bass
has been profiled in Marie Claire, Ebony, Billboard
and Pathfinder –Travel and has been quoted
in Black Enterprise, The Network Journal, Philadelphia
Inquirer and Essence. The recipient of the Future
Leader Award from Women Making a Difference
and NABFEME (National Association of Black Female
Executives in Music & Entertainment) PR
Executive of the Year Award for 2005, she’s
contributed her writing to the best-selling
book, “Souls of My Sisters” and
appeared on TV and radio airwaves including
WABC, Fox-29, WB-17 and WRKS-FM’s “Phenomenal
Woman” segment.
Formerly
the President of the Blues Babe Foundation,
Bass has served on the board of the Enterprise
Center in Philadelphia.
