Biography:
In the fall of 1964 Veronica E. Carpenter,
a single and pregnant mother, possessed newfound
hope when her youngest son, Kevin, was born.
And, like any mother, Veronica had high hopes
for all 5 of her children. Kevin, however, saw
little hope in the housing projects of Washington,
DC where he grew up during the height of the
Nation’s “War on Drugs”—A
war that, eventually, claimed several of his
family members and friends as casualties.
Kevin regularly attended public schools and
by age 12, his command of the drug, violence
and crime lessons taught by the “streets”
were proving to reap better and faster rewards
for him. At one time he worked so earnestly,
effectively and successfully for satan in the
seductive and illicit world of drug-dealing,
that he was offered a high-ranking position.
So, at a time when many youth were contemplating
proms, graduations or possibly pursuing dreams
of college, Kevin had long been in hot pursuit
of repeated arrests and convictions, until finally..
He
was left with contemplating the reality of serving
more than 20 years behind bars and how this
catastrophic blow would lay waste to the hopes
his mother once held. Yet, even several years
lost in psychological, mental, physical and
spiritual enslavement would pale in comparison
to a much greater loss he would later suffer.
Today, Kevin is a motivational/inspirational
speaker, transition coach, mentor, homeless
advocate and successful entrepreneur.
He masterfully introduces audiences to the unfolding
of God’s mercy along a callous, unforgiving
and lonely journey, and to how God’s grace
and the call to “be ye transformed”
ordered the emergence of a profoundly “NEW”
human being.
His ability to offer undeniable, universal and
life-empowering truths has Kevin swiftly emerging
as a sought-after speaker among youth and adult
audiences. With a focus on at-risk and disadvantaged
populations, some topics include; Empowered
Living for Black Men & Youth, Human Development
and Growth, Prison & Prison Culture, Drug
culture, use and recovery.
“Personal experiences have equipped him
with credibility and a critical knowledge of
his subject, so the message is honest, lucid,
soul-stirring and highly effective.” ~
Minister Lawson
A phenomenal talent for delivering REAL, RELEVANT
and REFRESHING wisdom, Kevin serves to empower,
encourage and elevate the human mind and Spirit.
Now, with his mothers hope restored, Kevin humbly
endeavors to help others pursue, recognize and
rejoice in the "MADE IT" moments in
their own lives.
