Biography:
Laymon A. Hicks is the speaker that youth and young adults want to hear. He not only relates to youth and young adults, but he guides and coaches them to star in their own show.

At the age of 21, Laymon is the author of A Treasure Chest of Motivation: 8 Jewels of Wisdom for a Young Adult s Success and co-author of Unleash the Passion for your Purpose. He is also a graduating senior at the Florida State University, where he manages and oversees a $10.1 million budget as the Student Body President. His expertise and experience allows him to help others realize their potential and stay motivated.

Laymon undoubtedly ignites his audience to be the best they were born to be through his enriching, elevating, and empowering talks. He is the oomph youth and young adults need to realize and reach their maximum potential.

The Student
Laymon realized at an early age that if he continued to travel the same road he did in middle school, he would not end up where he wanted in life. He recognized that his life was not moving forward, but rather taking two steps back. His drive to be the best that he could be became clouded by the negative influences around him. It was at that time, Laymon made a change for the better. He decided to ditch all of his childhood friends and start all over. Laymon realized that his meaning of moving forward was not the same as his friends.

Embarking on this change, Laymon started to enjoy his life more and do the things he wanted. He had found new friends, joined many clubs and organizations, and was successful within the classroom. As a reward of his success in the classroom, Laymon was inducted into the National Honor Society. However, his journey would soon end. At the age of 16, he made the biggest mistake of his life He cheated on a test. It took Laymon three months before he understood that despite his failure he could still press forward towards his dream of graduating and getting into college.

Today, at the age of 21, Laymon is a graduating senior at the Florida State University. He is completing his degree Criminology with minors in Psychology and Communications.

The Leader
Laymon is a leader in every aspect of the word. His leadership experiences can be traced back to the fourth grade where Laymon became an elementary school patrol. Having served in a multitude of capacities since the fourth grade, Laymon now serves as the Student Body President at the Florida State University. As the Student Body President, Laymon manages and oversees a budget of $10.1 million. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees Florida State University s governing body. Through his experience, he has made an everlasting impact on the lives of the 41,000 students attending FSU. His leadership style goes beyond textbook principles and follows a results based approach with a high level of energy and commitment to bettering one s self.
