Biography:
Dr.
Weather is a gynecologist, specializing in infertility,
fibroids, pelvic pain and endometriosis. He
hails from Utica, New York and lived and practiced
in New Orleans, LA, for a number of years until
Hurricane Katrina.
He presently resides in Shreveport, LA and is
married to Cynthia Montgomery, M.D. who is also
an OB/Gyn. In addition Dr. Weather is a health
educator, ordained minister, photographer and
avid traveler. He has traveled extensively throughout
Africa, Europe and Asia. He is the publisher
of the "Dr Weather Report," a
bimonthly healthcare eNewsletter. In addition
he has authored three inspirational poetry books
and an infertility handbook. His more recent
book of poetry and inspirational words is called
"It's All About Love," was published
in
April 2009.
Dr.
Weather is an active gynecological clinical
trials researcher and has presented over 122
peer reviewed presentations and papers on laser
surgery; the outpatient treatment of infertility,
endometriosis, pelvic pain and fibroids. Dr.
Weather is a graduate of Howard University s
College of Pharmacy, received his Doctor of
Medicine degree, from Rush Medical College and
trained in gynecology and obstetrics at the
Johns Hopkins University
Hospital.
Dr.
Weather is a past Adjunct Clinical Professor
at Xavier University College of Pharmacy, Past
President of the National Medical Associations
(NMA), affiliates New Orleans Medical Association,
and Louisiana Medical
Association. He is a member of the Omega Psi
Phi Fraternity, Past Grand President of Chi
Delta Mu Medical Fraternity, and Past Treasurer
of Black Congress on Health, Law and Economics
(BCHLE). Dr. Weather is a member of numerous
State of Louisiana Governor appointed Commissions,
Past Chair of Region V, NMA, Inc., and member
of the National Medical Association s Board
of Trustees and Executive Committee. He was
the Principal Investigator for the National
Medical Association s Katrina Disaster Practice
Restoration Grant. In addition he is the President
of Northern Louisiana Medical Association and
the New Orleans Health Alliance (NOHA), the
latter an organization founded in 1999, which
consist of Black Health Professionals, Black
Nurses, Inc., New Orleans Medical Association,
New Orleans Dental Association, Podiatric Association,
New Orleans Optometrists, Pharmacists and Physical
Therapists, along with Chi Delta Mu Medical
Fraternity. Dr. Weather's avocations are fishing,
gardening, golf, painting, photography, reading,
running and traveling.
Dr.
Weather was recently elected President-Elect
of the National Medical Association and he will
be installed as the 111th President, August
2010, in Orlando, FL at the Association's 107th
Annual meeting.
In
September 2009, he was appointed Co-Chair of
the Commission to End Health Care Disparities
and Scientific Advisor to the Endometriosis
Association.
