Biography:
Monique
Brown McKenzie, MBA is a multi-talented executive/journalist
who has developed into a dynamic sought after
public speaker dedicated to revitalizing the
economy by saving and preserving America's black
small businesses. This mother of three travels
the country providing blackpreneurs with the
tools they need to survive and thrive during
these economic times.
Monique, otherwise known as the finest matchmaker
in business, is currently the president of Small
Business Boot Camp. Her company plays matchmaker
to small businesses by directly connecting these
enterprises to the proper resources, tools,
professionals, and education to grow and prosper.
The Charlotte-based firm accomplishes this through
one-on-one consultations, customized on-site
training, networking events, publications, various
online tools, and other cutting-edge techniques.
Monique also hosts The McKenzie Business Forum.
The radio program, sponsored by Small Business
Boot Camp, features business experts as well
as successful business owners that educate listeners
on how they can implement innovative strategies
to boost brand awareness, expand their customer
base, and increase profits. This venture allows
her to capitalize on her experience as a prior
host on New York's 107.9 News and Views radio
segment.
Monique is most known for her work as an author
and journalist. Her book, It's a sistah thing:
A guide to understanding and dealing with fibroids
for black women, has gained worldwide recognition.
She's also ghostwritten several books for physicians
and other business professionals. In addition,
the award-winning journalist is a weekly columnist
for the Charlotte Post and has written hundreds
of articles for publications nationwide, including
the Charlotte Weekly, Today s Charlotte Woman,
the Union County Weekly, Essence, Heart &
Soul, Honey, Jewel, Kiplinger s Personal Finance,
Black Enterprise, Diversity Inc., Next Step,
the School Library Journal, Suburban Styles,
Silhouette, and Real Health.
Beyond that, Monique has spent several years
teaching in the graduate program for Long Island
University and for the Small Business Administration.
Monique is a popular inspirational, yet informative,
speaker. She's served as a moderator and keynote
speaker at various events for organizations
such as the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority (NJ),
Black Enterprise, Professional Women of Color
(NY), Black Women in Sports Foundation (PA),
African American Strategic Planning Group (KY),
Circle of Sisters, Harlem Health Fest, Hillside
Chapel and Truth Center (ATL)and African American
Women of Tour.
She has been featured on Fox News (NYC), KISS
FM (NYC), the Sacramento Bee Newspaper, The
Philadelphia Tribune, The New York Times, Today's
Black Woman, Essence Magazine, Heart & Soul

Review, KJLH radio in Los Angeles, and other
media outlets.
Monique received her master's degree from Long
Island University and her undergraduate degree
from Bernard M. Baruch College.
