Biography:
Shauntese Curry Trye is the founder of Trye & Associates, a small firm of trial lawyers in Baltimore, Maryland. Mrs. Trye is experienced in complex domestic litigation, trust and estate matters, real estate matters, and business torts. She has obtained significant settlements and has conducted numerous trials in state and federal court.

Mrs. Trye graduated from Rutgers College in 1998 and received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2003 and was admitted to practice law in Maryland that same year. After law school, Mrs. Trye worked as an associate for Hochberg, Costello & Baron in Towson before entering solo practice in 2005. In 2006, she became a partner in the law firm of Trye, Abou & Joseph before forming the firm of Trye & Associates. Mrs. Trye is a former partner of Acumen Title Company and currently owns and operates Trye Realty Group, Inc., a boutique real estate brokerage specializing in investment and foreclosure properties.

Mrs. Trye is admitted to the bars of the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. She serves as Secretary as well as By-Laws Committee Chair of the Monumental City Bar Association. She serves as the Awards Committee Chair of the Maryland Association for Justice. Mrs. Trye is also an active member of the Baltimore County Bar Association and Baltimore City Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

In 2008, Mrs. Trye was invited to participate in the Daily Record’s 100 Leading Women: Dialogue for Success hosted by The Daily Record. She was interviewed for SmartCEO magazine “How to Take a Vacation” article in the June 2009 issue. She was a guest speaker on Tell Me More with host Michel Martin from National Public Radio WEAA 88.9FM. She is also a frequent contributor and guest on The Marc Clarke Show on Baltimore’s My24 station.

Mrs. Trye is active in the community and has been recognized for her charitable contributions as a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Mrs. Trye also serves on the Executive Board for the Salvation Army. She also visits elementary, middle and high schools to speak to students about the law. Mrs. Trye has also participated as a Judge in annual Moot Court Competitions involving middle and high school students. She is also a Judicare Panel Attorney with the Maryland Volunteer Lawyer Service and frequently volunteers her time and services to the Women’s’ Law Center.

In her spare time, Mrs. Trye enjoys reading, music, entertaining, traveling and riding motorcycles. Mrs. Trye lives in Owings Mills, MD with her husband, Stephen and young son, Aston Chase.
